HEALTH GUARANTEE

Short-term Guarantee

You, the Buyer, are required to take the puppy to a licensed veterinarian within seven days of possession for this short-term guarantee to be applicable (i.e., otherwise null).

Communicable or Infectious Disease / Parasite - ear mites, worms (does not include eggs)

Within seven days of the Buyer’s possession, should vet discover puppy has external or internal parasites, worms or ear mite infestation or diagnosis puppy with communicable or infectious disease, we, the Breeders, agree to pay the following: 1)  50% of test cost that initially discovered the disease. 2) 50% of procedure cost to initially treat the puppy and 3)  100% of prescribed medication to initially treat the puppy.   We, the breeder, will not pay for any routine veterinarian exam, dewormer meds when worms are not present, and general indirect vet fees.  Total reimbursement for these coverages will not exceed $100.

Death

In the case of a death of the puppy within the seven days of Buyer possession, the Buyer must have a Licensed Veterinarian perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death.  If in the findings, the death is due to a congenital disorder, infectious disease, or virus, the findings must be recorded and supplied to Breeder immediately within five days of death.  Then we will refund 100% of price of puppy and agree to pay 50% of the cost for any veterinarian autopsy procedure not to exceed $50.  This guarantee is not applicable when death is due to accidental injuries, foreign inhalation, or indigestion of harmful substances that have occurred after the Buyer has left with possession of puppy.

Long-term Guarantee

Within one-year of the Buyer’s possession of puppy, should the veterinarian discover an unforeseen congenital abnormality that is currently life threatening or is currently affecting the animal’s quality of life, we will refund 100% of price of puppy.  This includes heart defects, complete blindness, inability to walk from hip dysplasia or patellar luxation, and cancer that kills the dog.  The dog must currently display signs of illness, stress, and/or pain making it unable to lead a normal healthy life free of stress and pain.  In the case of an unexpected death, an autopsy needs to be done in order to receive full refund.

Things not included in long-term agreement are allergies of any kind, infectious diseases including kennel cough, viruses, parasites of any kind, giardia, accidental injuries, foreign inhalation, indigestion of harmful substances, heat exhaustion, underbite, and overbite.  Mild heart murmurs with no heart disease symptoms, ectropion, hip dysplasias, or patellar luxations that are not showing signs of illness, stress, and pain in the dog are not included.

Umbilical Hernia

Most umbilical hernias are not life threatening and eventually close up by 6 months.  If the veterinarian determines it prudent to correct at the time of spaying or neutering (6-8 months), we will reimburse up to $50 of the cost to fix the hernia at time of spay/neuter surgery.

Reimbursements & Replacement Guarantee

A licensed veterinarian and/or specialist must make all claims in writing.  We reserve the right to base reimbursements on local Strasburg Vet Clinic fees (vet prices can vary for the same treatment).
